Does your hand feel stinging after handling all those chilies and peppers? Here are some easy remedies to help soothe your hand from the pepper burn.

  1. Oil: Rub a tablespoon of olive oil (or vegetable oil) all over your hands for about a minute, then wash them out with soap and water. The oil helps to dissolve the capsaicin in the chili,
  2. Whole milk or yogurt: Soak your hand in the milk or yogurt until the burning sensation stops. Chili pepper is more soluble in fats and oils thus helping to stop the burn.
  3. Baking soda paste: Mix a thick paste of baking soda and water and apply it directly to your hands until it dries before washing off.
